Sorry If My Thoughts Have Been A Bit Scrambled Lately, Readers
The truth of the matter is, my brain isfried. Kaput. I am, as my daughter would say "Dain-bramaged". I have a blogger's conference coming up in a little over two weeks, and I have not one, but two books that I'm am frantically finishing up, revising, rewriting and beating myself over the head with because I will have one entire day of the conference devoted to meetings with publishers and agents who'll be looking at my work. The other two days of the conference will have terrific panels about marketing, leveraging with the media and all sorts of great blogger/writer-type stuff.
So the next few weeks will be frantic, frantic, frantic. And as usual, I was re-reading everything I wrote and decided it was lousy. Just lousy. Who do I think I'm kidding? I don't have the time to be a writer. I don't have the brainpower or the creativity. I just don't have what it takes. I should just forget about all of this.
Then I jumped on the computer to write up a blog post for today and I realized that my two year blog-iversary passed last month. Two years! Two years I've been ranting and raving and shedding tears and sharing triumphs every single Monday through Friday and I haven't missed a blog yet. And to put the icing on the cake, reader Honey said something super nice about me that absolutely made my day. All of you have no idea how uplifting you are to me. I could never have done two years of this without you.
So I imagine if I can blog five days a week for a couple of years and still have people that want to read me, maybe I can do this writer stuff after all. I'm not silly enough to think I can quit my day job, or my night job writing blogs (and I wouldn't do that - I love this too much!), but just maybe I can get this done and feel like I finally accomplished one of those life goals. I can do this.
And I know I've got all of you in the stands, cheering me on. I am a lucky, lucky woman.
