Get the Look: The Windswept Half-Up 'Do at Michael Kors

Kors's aesthetic, after all, is typically ladylike: classic and All-American, for sure, but also put-together and feminine. The cascading, half-up hairstyle we saw backstage and on the runway at yesterday's show embodied thisthe tousled, cascading locks (which were literally created to have a windswept desert feel) were balanced by a Kors-designed amber hairpiece that held the look in place.
Keep reading to see how stylist Orlando Pita created the look.
Pita began by adding some Southwestern-inspired grit to the models' locks, with the help of Argan Oil () and Dry Shampoo () from his own line. (The idea was to mimic the desert elements, like sand and dust.) Next, he pulled strands across the forehead for that windswept, just-stepped-out-of-my-convertible look. He gathered these locks in the back to complete the half-up 'do, securing it in place with a bone-like amber piece created by Kors for the occasion. "You could do the same with a pencil or chopstick," he said.
