Get the Look: The Impossibly Pretty, Fresh Face at J. Mendel
Have we mentioned enough that the no-makeup makeup look is still a thing at New York Fashion Week? It was, of course, an overarching theme this weekwhich means that at individual shows, the nuances and tweaks where what set one look apart from the next.
At J. Mendel, it was about adding subtle shimmer and highlighting (like a lower-key version of strobing) for a gorgeously illuminated face overall. But while it does take a little know-how, it also involves very few products—and little time, for that matter—making it a snap to re-create at home. Keep reading to find out how.
Lead artist Romy Soleimani began with a wash of Kevyn Aucoin's () to provide some sheer coverage and even out skin tone. After adding some neutral color to eyelids with the help of the brand's not-yet-released Eyelid Contour Wand, she then applied Kevyn Aucoin's () in Candlelight/Sculpting, using the lighter shade only to highlight the cheekbones and inner tear ducts (paying special attention to the latter).
She then upped the glow factor even more by highlighting cheekbones again with the brand's () in Candlelight. Eyebrows were brushed up to natural perfection, and after Soleimani added a touch of () to the models' pouts, they were good to go.
